In Auckland, Aotearoa I spent 4 days interviewing Lawyers, Legal educators and victim survivors about skills required for lawyers representing victim survivors of coercive control in the family law system and in high control organisations.
I am a proud Aboriginal woman with family connections to Yorta Yorta through my grandfather. I am a victim survivor of child sexual abuse, domestic, family and sexual violence, and I spent 16 years in a cult and 4 years in a faux bible college in the northern rivers of New South Wales before I relocated to Sydney to study law and psychology.
I began my advocacy journey as a grassroots activist and organiser on Darug and Gadigal countries. In 2022 I became an advisor to the National Strategy and National Clinical Reference Groups at the National Office for Child Safety. In 2022 I was awarded a Winston Churchill Fellowship to investigate trauma-informed approaches to legal processes for historically underserved survivors of violence. In 2024, I commenced a PhD in law, focusing on strategically undervalued communities in Australia. In 2025 my colleagues and I are embarking on an Australian Research Centre
